Yoga teaches us that equanimity isn’t simply an experience we passively find ourselves blessed with in good times, but rather the fruit of a conscious and concerted effort to cultivate a balanced self-awareness which gradually matures into our default state of being over time. In light of this state of being, life becomes an opportunity to see ourselves and the world in a clear, balanced way—sama-darshana.
