The energetic current of our right nostril (pingala) supports activity, while the current of our left nostril (ida) supports relaxation. To deepen our Vishoka Meditation practice, Shari Friedrichsen explains, we want to balance the flow of energy in both nostrils. Nadi shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) allows us to move toward this balance and serves as a profound preparation for the deeper stages of practice.
