It is easy to see how others benefit when you volunteer your time at the food pantry or local library, but when it comes to volunteering it is truly better to give than to receive. Research shows us that volunteering reduces your stress, improves immunity, and builds a stronger sense of community and meaning. Volunteering not only improves your physical health but also your mental wellness. Through karma yoga (service) we discover that one of the best ways to help ourselves is by helping others.
