Supta Baddha Konasana (aka Supine Butterfly Pose) is known as the “Queen of Restorative Poses” because it provides a powerful reset on days when time is limited, or at times (like menses) when a regular asana practice is contraindicated. This wonderfully supportive pose contains a chest opener, hip opener, and mild backbend all in one, and is accessible for those who can easily get up or down from the floor. You will need a bolster (or firm chair cushion), two or more blankets and/or a few pillows to support yourself like a queen on the throne in this supine Butterfly Pose.
