Abnormal blood pressure is a common and often serious condition with varying consequences for yoga asana practice. We’ll briefly review the physiology of blood pressure, and normal and abnormal conditions. Then we’ll explore how blood pressure responds to yoga asana practice, and discuss tips for safely teaching and practicing with either high or low blood pressure.
